This is the rough storyboard for what is becoming an etched adaptation of Roald Dahl's adult short story The Visitor from the collection called Switch Bitch. These are simple ink drawings to get an idea of the finished narrative (they read top to bottom). I will now (time permitting) turn these compositions into etches. I am also considering the accompaniment of text in order to alter our relationship with Oswald. The story is told from the perspective of Uncle Oswald Hendryks Cornelius, through the form of his diary, this is one entry from August 24th 1946. The idea is that these represent photos from his trip in Egypt, making it more of a visual diary. By turning him into a stuffed doll, I am trying to take the power out of his hands and place it in that of the characters he continuously disrespects throughout the story.
